True Story: So this one time in Paris I was accidentally charged 44 euro for a 4 euro Starbucks latte. YEAH, not really a plus, right? WRONG! Actually it was one of the best things that happened to me money exchange wise. The person behind the counter actually refunded the 40 euro overcharge in cash and not only did I not have to pay my bank's ridiculous foreign bank transaction fee but because the whole transaction went through as a credit transaction I just have to pay my bank's 3 dollar international transaction fee. As it turns out, this charging "accident" saved me over 10 bucks in fees. If only I had known this throughout my experience I definitely would have been convincing locals to overcharge me and give me the difference. Eh, you live and you learn.
